GWS Machinery
was started in 1980  by the Greentree family of Freemans Reach who were running a 150 acre vegetable farm. The family was having trouble with the repair and replacement of its tractors, so they hired a mechanic to do the repair work. When word got around all the farmers in the district began bringing their tractors to them for repair. In 1984 GWS Machinery was approached by Massey Ferguson to become a dealer in Massey Ferguson and Iseki tractors.

Charlie Greentree purchased the premises in South Windsor shortly after accepting the dealership offer in 1984. They moved the repair business from the farm and spare parts business into their new premises.  Mark Greentree started working in the business when he left school in 1978 and is now the Managing Director of the company. Mark is widely recognised as an expert in the field of farm machinery and equipment with more than 24 years of experience in the business.

Doug Coggins started working in the plant and transport industry in 1978, working for Pioneer Concrete, United Concrete and the Baulkham Hills Council. In 2000 Doug joined GWS Machinery as the Sales Manager.   Doug travels around the Sydney region giving demonstrations to councils and other prospective customers.
